Kept water off pool cover

The pump works well. The reason for the down one star is the cover under the pump is not super secure. It came off and the pool cover was damaged by the spinning pump sucking it in and making a ring on my new cover. It didn’t ruin it or I’d be more upset. It also doesn’t come on without some salt in the water. Evidently our rain doesn’t have much in the way of mineral and the water can’t conduct well without some.

only used it twice so far but quickly pumps off pool cover water and has worked fine .

I have to say the jury is still out on the functionality of this item. I placed this unit on my inground pool cover with a required lift of approximately 8 inches. I have a 36 foot length of hose attached to move the water to the desired drain. However, after a rainfall of approximately 2.5 inches the automatic switch failed to engage and the added weight of the water that accumulated on a 20 X 40 cover was very disappointing. I have not given up on the use of this pump because of previous purchases of same. As I tinker with a solution I hope to eventually find a perfect solution for dewatering the cover. I think the back pressure may have contributed to the failure because the pump operates perfectly fine with a shorter discharge hose attached (8 foot). The quality of the product is well above what I had anticipated. I recommend this product with full confidence as I continue to find the solution for my current situation.

Not a great item

One star on this product, failed to work as intended. Although the product tested fine in a fresh water basin, when placed on the pool cover it failed to complete a circuit and energize the pump relay. At first I thought maybe some of the tree leaves or debris were getting stuck on the sensing terminals so I then enclosed the pump in a perforated container to keep debris out but that didn’t work either. There was approximately six inches of water coming up to the pump but it wasnt sensing it. Removed the pump from the water on the pool cover, tested again and it worked. As an electrician, my only explanation for this was the altered resistance in the contaminated pool water, probably to high to allow the relay to pick up which of that were the case then that would make this a design flaw that the designer should adjust for. In any case, it failed to work and so I contacted the company for a return but they refused to honor it despite all the details I shared and video of the failure. They tried offering twenty dollars as a payoff first to “find a repair shop in my area to repair it” which I thought and told them it was an insult! They stepped that up forty hoping I would give in a cut my losses which is when I disputed the charge with my creditor who fought the battle and rule in my favor. Bottom line, consider your purchase as final if you are buying from this place, the customer service will drag you on for days and just not worth the headache. Other than that, the pump did have good flow when it worked lol!

Had the pump less than 3 weeks and it stopped working. Disappointed!! DO NOT BUY

Part arrived broken. Would like a replacement part. Will delve into how to get a replacement for the chintzy plastic threading.
