I got the hoist to install in my garage mainly to help deploy a fold up trailer, but it would also serve as a general purpose item. I installed it on a 10' rail so it could be slide back and forth to lift things into the trailer. It seems to be a good hoist but has 2 real flaws and a tiny one.
First, the wired remote is permanently attached. I specifically bought the hoist because it had a wireless remote so why would I want to have the wired remote always dangling in my way. And no good way to attach it to the hoist. I got a wiring diagram to install a connector in the power cable so I could remove it but I have been warned this will void my warranty.
Second, I will need to put another power outlet in the middle of my 10' rail. I did get a 8' coiled power cable that coils up to 3' but, again, voids my warranty if I replace the stock cable.
Lastly, a red light blinks whenever the hoist is plugged in - no way to turn it off. A nit but it annoys me. I will have to install a switched plug now.
So, just know what you are getting into.
