It is an excellent way to learn about distillation. It has been a fascinating way to explore the hobby and gather information on the process. I don't think there is a better way to get started than this set up. You're not going to be James Beam but you will enjoy where the journey takes you. I am glad I purchased this unit and I can recommend it to anyone who is interested in distillation. For the money this item cannot be beat. Get one for yourself, I highly recommend it.

Overall the materials used to construct the still and the included parts make this a very good buy. However - the instruction book is terrible. It looks like a bad photocopy from a 1980's vintage copier. The parts are not all labeled and there is not a lot of instruction on how to assemble it. I was left to doing research on YouTube and other places to figure out what all the parts are used for and how to assemble them. The recipes in the book don't have a lot of detail either, and the instructions are not explained very well for someone that is new to distilling.

Great beginner still. Stainless steel is a little thin and can start to burn mash but thumper is a great addition.

It is work well. However the water in cooling pot is getting hot fast. Hope recirculating submersible pump will work properly in this hot water. I had to replace the cooling water a few times to make sure it is keep more or less roomy temperature. Otherwise I like the distiller.

Other than the fact they delivered it to the wrong address and it was missing an important part, the quality is quite good. Luckily the part that was missing was interchangeable from the one i was replacing. The overall construction was well made and it looks like the new style seals and gaskets will last longer than the old one i had. I have already used it twice and works very well. This 8 gallon version is about the perfect size for new or experienced users.

It will distill, the seals leak a bit and the cooling tank is to small but for the price it is pretty good.

Love it , only bad thing i can think of is the gasket on the thumper is a pain to get a good seal so i got some hi-heat liquid gasket and it worked great

Great way to get started. Inexpensive and good quality for a first timer like me. Easy to set up. Found different recipes on line to try.
