These worked perfectly on my old 1989 Dexter 7000 # axels.

Parts received in less than 48 hours from the order time. Parts look well machined and it seems they learned from their past mistakes of inserting the axle seal prior to lubricating. They now leave it uninstalled and ready to be greased. Haven't installed yet.

Much better package then backing plate and drum separately. When buying just drum you have to knock the seal Out to grease the bearings. This package seals and bearings are packaged separately

I would give 5, but the reason for reduction is simple. The packaging is not great and delivery is by Fedex, which can be hit/miss on quality. I had to order twice. The first delivery was a massive failure due to the package falling apart midshipment and Fedex repackaging. The delivery was for 4 brakes, I received 2. If you don't know: Salt Lake City, UT Fedex is one of the worst hubs in the country. They can pretty much screw up anything. My experience and hearing from other Fedex truck drivers. Ended up having to return the two and reorder. Anyway, the other issue is the rear wheel seal. They install it with the bearing behind it. You have to remove the seal to add grease to the bearing. Once removed, you will destroy it and have to buy a new one. Vevor! Put the seal and bearing in a box so we can install them ourselves. Now, besides that, the parts looked and felt exactly like my original Dexter brakes. They installed easy. For those doing this the first time, make sure you pick up a brake adjustment tool. I adjusted them to slight drag before lowering the trailer. Also pulled the emergency pin to ensure the brakes locked up. Have some brake clean available to spray and wipe down the drums and brake pads (if you get grease on them). I wiped quite a bit of crap off them. The next most important part is that you burnish the brakes. You will have to look up some videos and info how to do it for yours. For Dexter, it was easy. About 40-50 braking applications. I put the brake controller to 10. Even with drag set, my brakes barely held the trailer while stopped at idle. This was prior to burnishing. I did about 8-10 applications at 40 mph down to 20 mph and let it cool down before the next repetition. The application is of the controller only, no truck brakes. I kept an infrared thermometer with me to measure the temps on each brake. You are looking for 350-400 degrees per hub. Also, you are looking to make sure they are all close in temps. If one is much lower or higher, you need to adjust them. Mine stayed around the same. By the time I was done (around 30 miles and 2 hours), I put the truck at 20 mph and applied only the trailer brakes. It brought the truck to a stop pretty quick. Big difference from the initial install to the final burnishing. Very happy with the final result. If you don't burnish them, you will likely be unhappy with any brakes you install. Don't forget to reset your controller when you are done burnishing. When I finished, I was able to set it to 5.5 and brought the truck/trailer to a stop very easily with just the controller.
