I bought this to block out some bright streetlights in my neighborhood ... allowing for better night sky viewing (telescopes).
it worked perfectly ... EZ to set up and significantly diminished the stray light when using a standard 10x10 black velvet style backdrop.
And significantly less expensive than a observation tent or pop-up observatory (and way less than a permanent dome structure!)

Nice heavy duty stand, very strong aluminium , the bar is really straight don´t bend with the backdrop weight, comes with a set of extra clips that are very useful for holding the backdrop.
excellent compromise between quality and price
