I had only used the GRS previously when a student and since I want willing to drop $700 on a GRS, I thought I'd give this a try. I am so thrilled with this. It's super stable. Rotates and spins beautifully yet locks up when you tighten up the screw. I didn't think I'd use any of the included attachments and I could not have been more wrong. The ring holder works like a charm and the pegs secure every shape I've mounted on it. I am beyond thrilled with this!

Just did my first engraving with the ball - i am excited.
The turning of the ball is very smooth, resistance can be adjusted easily and precisely.
The workpieces are held firmly in place.

I am extremely happy with this vise! It is extremely versatile and includes all of the pins and grips to make my hobby much easier to work with! It is very heavy duty and perfect for my personal use. It does not slip since the base is very durable and also allows me to use at whatever angle is comfortable for me to work at. I highly recommend this vise to those that need a sturdy vise for small projects that need care when handling.

This ball vise is so sloppy it will not be possible to use. The machining tolerances are terrible. The vise jaws tilt about .025" on each side, the pins for the accessory jaws are loose and allow too much slop the bearing adjustment system does not work correctly. When adjusting the drag for rotation you basically have no rotation or full free rotation but you can't increase tension to have any drag. Also the smell is terrible, it is like a burning rubber smell.
