Should have bought a bigger one or just get a regular fan,this was too small to clear paint fumes

A good unit for the price - some find it noisy but if you put the exhaust hose on it quiets down. You will want to connect the hose to the flange end but don't. It goes on the other end. I put the fan on a waist high stand that I can roll around the shop. I always use it when grinding and sanding metal. There is a certain amount of blow out at the intake so I roll the unit around my work station and test the inflow with a handful of fine sawdust. You will soon see where the best placement is to get dust away from your face. When welding the fan works well to exhaust welding fumes which is important if you are welding galvanized. Overall for the size (it is smaller than you think) it does a good job. I never sand, grind or weld without it on and I work with a lot of old rusty metal. Overall I would give it two thumbs up and recommend it.

It worked good, but when you put the ductwork on it drastically reduces the airflow, almost in half! Without the ductwork is is a great fan. Only thing I can think is that the ductwork has to be fully extended to work better?

This turned out to be a good purchase. The fan feature works well,, the noise level is right at tolerable if you’re running it in the same location that you’re working in and the room size is a conventional room in a residence. If you’re running the fan on the opposite side of an exterior wall, it’s obviously more tolerable. As far as features, it’s hard to rate higher than a four, because there aren’t any features beyond the on/off switch and the GFCI reset switch. The fan draws enough air to clear smoke and Sheetrock dust effectively, as long as you’re providing enough air for it to move out. The fan is only set up to pull air at the end of the ventilation tubing and NOT PUSH IT, but I did have to utilize it as a push because of environmental circumstances and it performed ok as well with no detectable added strain to the motor. You just need to ensure that you tie the tubing to the fan casing well, because it’s not flanged like the intake, but it does have a rolled edge. I also secured around the guard for the trigger just to be certain it didn’t work itself free and blow the tubing through a window or something. The fan seems to be built well, but there’s not a whole lot of building involved. The casing is steel with rolled edges, intake is flared to connect tubing, functional GFCI switch inline, orange paint that helps with visibility, an on/off switch, removable steel grates on either end to facilitate cleaning and any maintenance or necessary repair, thick plastic fan blade and rubber feet for traction. You should be sure to clean as necessary, especially when you have it moving dust or things of that nature, and I had an old nylon bag that wasn’t being used to throw the tubing into, as well as a small leather belt that I got to run through the tubing and latch to make it easier to carry with the fan. Fan weighs 26.2 lbs carry weight total as I have it set up to travel, and depending on what I’m using it for, I usually keep a 13 gallon trash bag as well to put the vent tubing into until I can get home and rinse out any dust that may have accumulated inside.

get one with a 2 way switch for motor, but they won't disappoint.

Einfaches aber leistungsfähiges Gerät. Robust aufgebaut. Ich benutze es, um beim Schleifen oder Sägen in meiner Werkstatt den Staub abzusaugen, da ich keine feste Absauganlage habe. Das einzige Problem, das mir aufgefallen ist, besteht darin, dass es am Rand des Ansaugstutzens eine Verwirbelung gibt, die entgegen der Ansaugrichtung läuft, d.h. in einem kleinen Bereich um die Rundung scheint das Gerät zu blasen anstatt zu saugen das Gerät. Darauf sollte man bei der Aufstellung achten, damit anfallender Staub nicht in den Raum geblasen wird, anstatt abgesaugt zu werden.
