I bought this anvil for two reasons. 1) It has an HRc hardness of ~55, instead of only ~50 which is what the blue ones are. 2) Because the picture shows the horn and round hole being flush with the flat surface of the top of the anvil. This second reason turned out not to be the case. There is about a 1/ to 3/8 inch step there. I have since learned that the step is useful for some things but it does mean the round hole is not the same height all the way round, which makes it less useful for using it as a Pritchard hole. I plan to weld some fender washers onto the end of a pipe that will fit in that hole, and then grind one side flat to fit in the hole and solve this problem. The anvil itself is quite good, and for the price is down right amazing. Edges are sharp, so you can break the corners with a file to set the corner radiuses at the size you want. The anvil rings a bit, but I think with a magnet under the horn and a chain around the base this tones it down nicely. (other anvils also ring and can be quieted the same way)

Je suis contente de l'enclume, mais je l'ai reçue avec l'emballage déchiré. Il aurait fallu un emballage plus solide, car il était un peu léger par rapport au poids de l'enclume.

Very good for the price. Overall very useful. The horn is a lightly rough casting and required some smoothing for finer work as does the hole , but overall the weight and design are fine for an occasional use bench anvil.

Very good for the money. This anvil needed some “finishing off”, the casting lines on the horn, the general shape of the horn & all around the edges, I removed the coating & brought it into shape with a sanding flap disc on a grinder, then finished off with some large files. I wanted the coating off all of the main surfaces & all the edges & right angles. This was an easy job & left me with an anvil that is perfect for my own personal use. Now I just need to find or make a stand.

Good tool for workshop but finish quality needs improving or monitoring before dispacthing otherwise it's okay.

This mini anvil is great for what I need. You couldn't go blacksmithing on it because it's only a mini anvil and doesn't have the size, bounce or resilience of a real anvil. BUT, if you want a glorified bench block, as I did, then this anvil is way better than required. It's heavy enough to hammer on and shape metal but light enough to move around the workshop to where needed. The anvil is very cheaply priced and excellent value for money. I would recommend it for light metalworking and also as a generally useful item for when you need somewhere solid to bash things on.

Just what i needed. The size is excellent for my needs and will certainly make my metal items much easier to make.
