This is the third lathe I bought. The first two I bought were from Ebay and they never delivered and I had to wait to get my money back. I did get my money back , but it delayed my projects from getting done for 6 months. I ordered this lathe from Vevor and they promised delivery in 1 week and they lived up to there promise . Do not delay ordering from this company, prices are going up so order now. This lathe is the best product out there . I bought this for pool cue repair and it works just what you would expect a good lathe to work. The quality is great. Well made heavy casting for the bed, great precision .0001 tol. Renn

The lathe arrived within a few days of purchase and was undamaged. The crate it was shipped in is a work of art and worth keeping. I have spent ~24 hours disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, deburring, honing, oiling, greasing, and reassembling the lathe's mechanical subsystems - tail stock, compound slide, cross slide, carriage, apron, ways, feed screw, rack gear, chuck, and stud gears. I also inspected the motor and electronics. I have posted >150 photos in the Facebook group Home Shop Machinist (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1104020856281121) of my progress - 10/12 (6), 10/23 (19), 10/26 (46), 10/28 (17), 10/31 (35), 11/04 (26), 11/07 (5). This is the second lathe I have owned. I am very pleased with it so far. I am looking for more accessories - MT3 ER32 collet chuck w/collets, MT3 dead center, faceplate and lathe dogs, follower/steady rest, MT2 live center, tooling. I am also planning a few upgrades - way covers and locks and/or stops for the slides. Once I get it mounted to a solid base I will align the tailstock, tool, and chuck. Once aligned I will begin to make parts with it. I look forward to many years of service from it. It is a fine addition to my small home shop.

Yes I am pleased basically overall. The only thing I had to was to tighten the grub screw on the sadle wheel. The lathwe seems quite acruate. The only thing thing I do not like is not getting replies to my e-mails re I want to purchase a Tail stock Drill Chuck and the price for same. The only other thing is a Phone number in Australia so I can purchase accesseries and not given a www.----site I really want to talk to someone. Regards Alan Tomkins

Great little machine
I had my reservations about buying this lathe as the quality and accuracy was unknown but I was very pleasantly surprised. after a good tune up adjusting all the gibs and getting everything properly lubricated/aligned it has proven to be a real workhorse more than capable of making accurate parts. rigidity is fine, it will cut mild steel no worries but a spring pass is required but this is true of even much larger lathes. I have no issues recommending this lathe but be prepared to spend a bit of extra money on upgrading the tool holder and metal gears if you plan on doing a lot of thread cutting.

Better lathe thn expected
Before getting this lathe, I wathed video's from several youtubers reviewing/disassembling/repairing this (vevor) and other brands of 7x12 mini lathes. There seems to be several common issues - nothing show stopping - just sloppy toleranes, cost cutting, and poor QA. Although I have not taken the meters to the machine to test runout and flatness,I definately rest easier finding a lot of the issues had been resolved, at least in my model. Paint was much more even/not oversprayed, chuck had a back plate, tailstock has a cam lock, The dials are fairly tight out of the box - not much slop. The gibs I have checked have properly aligned holes. Forward/Reverse engage cleanly. Disenage is pretty clean. I can jiggle the lever up enough to get the gears to grind, but I have to force it. Machine seemed nicely oiled (not waxed or whatever gunk stuff is sometimes shipped with) )and is probably nopt going to need the deep cleaning I was expecting. The tailstock does suffer - it does not quite fit on the bed and is a bit slanted. But it looks like it is aligned fairly well and might just be a matter of horizontal adjustment to perfection. Meters will tell later on. Delivery was in a wooden crate. It is heavy. The UPS driver hates me. heh. But once removed trom the box the lathe is almost manageble by one person. BTW, just how do you open those wooden crates? this is the 3rd and I still have only about a 15% success rate straiting the connectors). Unbolting the lathe from the oontainer was tedious because I was worried of the lathe falling, and lifting it was iffy because I did not know where the best lift points (or the no lift points) were. Not looking forward to bringing it down to the basement where it will live. Included accessories are adquate but not awe inspiring. Such a cute little toolbox though - maybe (for the 30 cents the box must cost) a larger one, or two of them could be included with the lathe, because there is almost not enough room for it to be usable with even just the spare gears and teeth.

I bought this metal lathe after a lot of online research and reviews. It's a hobby machine for me and works well for that purpose. I've never machined metal before but I wanted to add to my wood-working hobby by playing around with shaped and polished, brass and aluminum. I am not machining to any precision, just shaping ornamental pieces and components. The ordering, communications and delivery from Vevor exceeded my expectations. The well-made crate was delivered on time and professionally. Everything that was ordered was in the crate and undamaged. Communications from Vevor was excellent. The machine itself met my expectations. It needed a lot of setting up and tuning. Things like disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, oiling, alignment and tightening of slides and gibs. All this was expected - it was a good experience to learn how the machine works. I was turning brass and aluminum in less than 2 days. Although the tool holder and brazed carbide cutting tools worked, my first purchase after the lathe was a Quick Change Tool Post and indexable carbide tools set. NOTE: the correct size for the QCTP is OXA and the tools themselves are 3/8 inch. I built a custom bench with tool storage for the lathe, the week after receiving it.

Good beginner set up
203x356 mm 650 W
It's a good starting point to learn on, everything is fairly basic, but extras can be purchased on Amazon that fit this machine. The blades provided, are terrible so the first thing you want to do is buy yourself a nice replaceable carbide blade/tool
