Good Product
Good product. No problem's. Just wish they would have included the (8) 7/16 fine thread nuts that hold the backing plate on. Thought I had everything needed and had to run and get those nuts. Not a big deal, just would have been nice. Otherwise love the product.

INCOMPLETE SET
Poor instructions.
No backing plate nuts or lock washers!
Need(8) 7/16 - 20 nuts and lock washers.
Also buy 2 new hub seals to replace the 2 that must be removed to repack the bearings with grease.

Trailer brake
Nice product, but the hubs come assembled with the inner seal and bearing installed. To pack the inner bearing with grease prior to installing them, you have to destroy the inner seal to get the bearing out. The bearings are shipped dry. Why not ship the drums totally unassembled, then the bearings could be properly packed with grease, prior to installation.
To install the breaks as shipped, and hoping that you will fill the bearings with grease via the grease fitting on the end of the spindle,is not going to happen. How long will the bearings last, without properly packed with grease prior to installation? Maybe 10 miles or so?
Just a thought, ship the drums apart

Mostly great
Like others mentioned, the bearings are NOT pre-packed with grease, and the axle seal is already pressed in. I guess this is ok if you have a spindle with a grease fitting to load grease in between the bearings, but I don't like doing that. I'd preferred that the backing seal was not assembled so you could pack the bearings by hand if you wanted. Also, new back plate bolts would really be appreciated. Not sure if I'd buy again. I'd probably look for hubs that have pre-loaded bearings.

The brakes fit perfectly. They are easy to install, however the included instructions need to be better. They work well with my trailer and brake controller. The only real complaint is they do not come with mounting bolts. To anyone buying them. Get bolts first. You may not be able to reuse the old ones. I believe they are 7/16 fine threads. They are not a common thread, but they are not too hard to find. If they were included, I would have given five stars.

would have been better if the inside bearings were packed with grease before installing the seal . I had to pull the seal and pack the bearings and install new seals. I do not understand the reasoning behind this.

Overall good
These are over all good and really can't beat the price. I work somewhere we work on RVs and trailers and my pricing from our supplier are more then what I can get them from here. I have two thing I didn't like about it but in the end it is minor for some in the RV trade.
1: the oil used to keep the bearing from rusting leaked to the plastic caps of the hub and contaminated the brake pad. Thankfully it wasn't to bad on mine and I was able to clean it off with brake clean and a green scruby
2: it would be better to eather have the bearing packed with grease then some oil in them and set in the hub. To pack the bearing properly now both the grease seal will mostliky need to be replaced due to needing to remove them. Personally I would of liked to see the bearings and seal separate in its own bag in the box.
3: not really an issue but would be nice to add the proper locknuts in the box to attach the backing plates. Again not a issue but they are one time use nuts and need to be replace once removed and they are cheap enough to get in most places.

12" brakes that worked perfect. simple direct bolt on backing plates and they come with self-adjusters unlike the ones that we took off. So far so good . Remember to replace your wheel bearings, races & seals.

Reasonably good quality
The kit comes in a box not really up to the job of shipping something this heavy. Nothing was damaged, but probably would have ripped open if handled much more. Drum and backing plate appear to be good quality. A short coming is the inner grease seal is already installed and the bearing is not sufficiently lubed. Removing the seal will damage it. I recommend that you order a seal to avoid a delay in your project. I suspect they want you to use the through axle lube port. I don't feel that suffiently lubes a new dry bearing.
