Works just like the description. Cable is heavy enough to only get slightly warm at full 16 amps. Two issues: 1. the internal timer is not very accurate; when set to delay charging 12 hours, it loses ~15 minutes and so starts the charge session late; 2. The power plug is inline with the cord, so the cord has to do a 180 degree turn to route back to the wall and then -90 degrees to route down to the wall mounted charger body. The power cord should come out of the plug at a 90 degree angle just like the NEMA 14-50 and similar. Also, an instant start charging countdown timer would be much preferred so that I don't need watch the clock and end charging at the desired time. Also, bring back the 24-amp charger with a NEMA 6-30 plug! No one else makes it and it is needed for 30 amp circuits.

It works just fine

Got this to replace a clipper creek charger that I had for 10 years. The unit is built well. The screen is an upgrade compared to my prior charger and the selectable charge current works well. I have two different charge locations so needed a charge where I could pick the charger current. Dropped a star as the unit does not activate charging when my car preheats for departure.

Bought it for my 2026 Ioniq 5 and work perfectly so far. No issue with car communication. Cable somewhat rigid at temperature near zero celcius, left to see when it will be minus thirty!

So far so good , the charger is well built and has a heavy duty long cord .charging of my EV is quick and easy , unit has a delay Start feature to optimize lower electricity costs overnight . I like the big clear display which is easy to read . The charger can also charge at lower amperage -like 32 amps and 24 amps ect to lower the loads on my home panel if needed .

The display is too dim to read on a sunny day, and even on a cloudy day it is difficult to read. It otherwise works OK so far, and I think it is worth the C$160 price.

I am happy with everything about the 40 amp charger except the charging cable. It is stiff and is hard to coil. Before this charger I had the 32 amp portable charger. The charging cable on that model was flexible and coiled easily. What ever change was made on the 40 amp unit - change it back.

Good Charger. App instructions are confusing but it is now in the Google Play store, vs a private download as described in the instructions. App requires you to register but I just used a non important email address, not a phone number. App provides info on current charging state (current, voltage), as well as a record of total KWH for a particular charge - all I am looking for. Claims to have a 28 foot cord but is really only 25 feet from the "box" to the end of the charging receptacle..... so really barely 25 feet of usable cable. Seems to be the way they measure the cord length on all their chargers. Sometimes seems to require unplugging and replugging in to get it to work without displaying a flashing red light... but at the price it is a cost effective, 240V, 20A charger for my PHEV.

Perfect stage 1 "charger". Plug it in and it just works. Not worked out mobile connection though.
